Animelles are Halal

I asked Sheikh Nuh Al-Qudah, the Mufti of Jordan, the ruling regarding eating animelles in the Shafi'i school, as eating them is prohibitively disliked in the Hanafi school. He said that all meat (from a properly butchered animal) is permissible to eat as long as it is not harmful.

Bon appetit!

Fiqh aside, it is so revolting to even think about eating animelles ...

Having Arab parents, I actually grew up eating them. They're actually fairly good. If you ever eat gourmet sausages, you're eating intestines. If you eat hot dogs or bologna, you're eating snouts, eyes, etc. I like to know what I'm eating, so I avoid processed meats. However, I have no problem eating any animal part, other than the spleen, which I have tried to like, but it just doesn't jive with me.

I like the spleen, I just can't help it. Lebnani Snack has a Hot Spleen sandwich. I have ordered it more than 1/2 a dozen times.

Animelles, however, I've never tried, although my sister-in-law swears that lamb testicles cooked with garlic and parsley are the cure for kids who wet the bed. She said it's a bedu thing, and guaranteed. I wonder...

Um Zaid, do not laugh at me and my spleen thing.

Maybe I'll try Lebnani Snack's hot spleen sandwich. The main thing I don't like about spleen is the mushy texture.

I would not dream of it.

I had Lebnani Snack's Hot Spleen Sandwich yesterday and it was pretty good. It's the first time I've enjoyed eating spleen.

    Thanks for the suggestion, UF!
